WHO IS THE TARGET AUDIENCE?
The principles of Habitat support the positive interaction of people, so it make sense in any size or type of organisation - from small business to corporate giants, not-for-profits or government.
As wonderful as it would be to see the majority of larger entities function as Habitats and as awed as we would be to experience that size positive impact in the world, my belief is that the first focus needs to be on small and medium sized organisations.
Our smaller organisations are nimble, so this systemic shift can happen in a matter of months for any one of them. Moreover, people owning and working in small and medium sized organisations tend to represent roughly half of all people in any working population - that’s a lot of people who currently feel so powerless against big industry and government forces. From Train to Habitat creates the type of positive internal momentum which places their destiny back in their own hands, which in itself, makes it a very attractive prospect.
What happens next? Well, habitat thinkers are purpose driven, so they prefer to support other purpose-driven habitats. Businesses following the Train model become unattractive, so as consumers, people in these smaller entities will favour those bigger entities who have also formed true Habitats.
And so perhaps a tidal wave of change becomes possible through the power of small.
